ABC Anti-Fraud and Risk Assessments Officer - Ref 12745

The role will support the Head of Financial Crime Compliance for this boutique Capital Markets firm.

Key Job Functions:

  • Lead and Manage ABC, Anti-Fraud & Risk assessments team
  • Identify and implement actions to improve effectiveness of Control Framework
  • Monitor and improve the use of internal systems and controls, including ABC Database   
  • Assess the permissibility of transactions, third party relationships, as well as gifts and hospitality requests in accordance with laws, policies, and procedures;
  • Stay abreast of ABC and Anti-Fraud regulatory updates, enforcement actions and typologies;
  • Assess the impact of legal and regulatory requirements relating to ABC, Fraud, Tax Evasion
  • Carry out entity-wide risk assessments
  • Revise ABC and Anti-Fraud policies and procedures
  • Challenge existing processes, looking for enhancements and efficiencies;
  • Act as an advisor to the business
  • Support MLRO and Head of FCC in their efforts to meet legal and regulatory responsibilities;
  • Identify, co-ordinate and implement enhancements of the ABC & Anti-Fraud, MI;
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders in preparing ABC & Anti-Fraud responses to internal and external information requests;
  • Plan and deliver ABC and Anti-Fraud training;
  • Ad hoc project work and reviews.

Front Office Business units, Operational management, Compliance Department, Senior Management

Key Skills / Experience

  • Good understanding of capital markets products along with the financial crime risks associated with such products;
  • Suitable experience in ABC and Fraud Investigations
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and risk assessment skills
  • Knowledge of the FCA SYSC rules, ML Regulations 2017, the Criminal Finances Act 2017, the Bribery Act 2010, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Fraud Act 2006, and EU Money Laundering Directives;
  • Dynamic compliance professional with strong, demonstrable anti-financial crime experience gained in an investment banking or brokerage firm environment
