Compliance Assistant
Reporting to and working alongside the Head of Compliance / MLRO to assist with all Compliance and Financial Crime matters
· Liaise with business to collate data for annual Fraud Risk Assessment
· Support the Head of Compliance in individual branch risk assessments
· Perform sanctions checks, monitoring and reviewing output and taking appropriate action
· Maintain local operating policies and procedures
· Maintain London Branch policies and procedures for publication in ISA
· Assist the Head of Compliance in implementing UK and German regulatory changes within the organisation
· Ensure on-going compliance with the UK regulations for AML & Compliance themes to minimise the risk throughout the business
· Ensure that changes to AML& Compliance related laws and regulations are reviewed, analysed, tracked and embedded effectively
· Maintain awareness and ensure compliance with other regulatory bodies requirements
· Maintain register of relevant regulations for the branch
· Escalate issues to Branch General Manager and / or Global Head in the absence of the Head of Compliance / MLRO
· Prepare data for FCA Gabriel reporting
· Assist in the preparation material for internal training & workshops
· Maintain awareness with regulatory changes and the industry by attending Webinars, Seminars and Conferences
· Advise staff on Compliance related matters as required
· Ensure branch CPD logs are current and upto date
· Maintain branch Training & Competence log
· Archive and maintain documents in electronic data archiving system
· Archive documents for offsite data storage
· Liaise with colleagues in Hanover and other branches as required
· Provide support to the Head of Compliance in Data Protection
· Carry out and complete ad hoc project work as assigned
· To provide ad hoc support as required to support integration project
· Maintain and update Operational Reslience Plans
· Provide support to the Head of Compliance in Operational Resilience topics
· Actively participate in regular team meetings / calls (in person and on-line)
· Document minutes & action points from meetings as required
· Produce regular Management Information on Compliance / AML topics as required
· Maintain KYC Customer database
· Review the completed periodic review presented by the business
· Maintain database of KYC periodic reviews
· Monitor Compliance from the business units with the KYC reviews
· Present completed KYC reviews to the branch MLRO for final review and sign off
· Produce regular Management Information on KYC reviews
· Liaise and advise the Relationship Manager on all KYC requirements
· Review the completed KYC from the borrower to the Ultimate Beneficial Owner on complex deal structures across multiple jurisdictions
· Identify PEPS during screening process and present the PEP form(s) to the relationship manager and senior management
· Identify Red Flags within SDD/EDD reviews
· Action daily alerts from WorldCheckOne
· Perform customer screening, reviewing output and taking appropriate action for all new business and periodic reviews
· Regular review and monitoring of existing suppliers in WorldCheckOne
· Review the due diligence and carry out the screening for all new and changed suppliers
· Carry out the remediation work from monitoring reviews and assessments
· PEP Monitoring
· Carry out the detailed monitoring activities of the annual Compliance & AML Monitoring Plan
· Carry out the detailed tasks of the annual Compliance & AML Monitoring Plan
· Achieve the required CPD training as defined by your status under the SMCR
· Complete and pass all assigned training within specified time period
