Deputy Head of Sanctions

 

My client have created this new role for their sanctions team.

You will deputise for the Head of Sanctions in dealing with senior stakeholders and other counterparts throughout the firm.

The role is to oversee the day to day running of the Investigations and Advisory & Controls functions

You will provide advice and guidance to the region on applicable financial and trade sanctions, expectations of regulators and the design and operation of the sanctions program.

 

Responsibilities

Analyse and interpret sanctions legislation with respect to transactions or activities being performed in the region

Oversee and manage strategic enhancements to the sanctions compliance program

To oversee the day to day running of the EMEA Sanctions Advisory and EMEA Sanctions Controls and Investigations teams

Act as an escalation point for these functions.

Liaise with and provide guidance to local Compliance teams within the EMEA region.

Design and develop sanctions training

Ensuring applicable policies and procedures are maintained and up to date.

Oversee the design and development of the EMEA sanctions risk assessment and act as a key stakeholder in agreeing remedial action plans to enhance the sanctions compliance program.

Contribute regularly to the Global Sanctions Working Group

Overseeing the design and development of relevant MI (including KRIs)

Experience in leading projects

Sound understanding of key sanctions regimes

Experience in writing policy and procedure
